How Pinterest Made My St. Paddy’s Day Awesome

Last week I did a post titled “How to Use Pinterest as Your Shopping Assistant”.

How to Use Pinterest as your shopping assistant

(If you didn’t read the post, I suggest you do so you know what I’m talking about! Don’t worry… I’ll wait.)

And guess what, you guys?

I put my money where my mouth is and found myself a super awesome outfit for St. Patrick’s Day.

Here’s the thing: I’m Swedish (just in case the height and love of vodka didn’t tip you off) and have never gone out for St. Paddy’s. Hell, I don’t even like Guinness. But a couple of my Irish friends insisted I go out drinking with them.

((Well… if you insist…))

It was raining on Saturday, so a trip to the mall was just what I needed to get out without getting wet. But first? I went on Gap’s website to find myself something to try on.

Using Pinterest for iPhone

Hello there, cute shirt!

After pinning several items of interest, I headed to the mall to try them on.

Since my local mall has free WiFi, I was able to reference my pins while trying things on, and then post pictures on Instag.ram and Twitter for instant expert opinions. The green striped tee was a unanimous “yes”.

Gap

Gap Tee and Jeans. ALDO Boots.

This is where the awesome part starts.

Equipped with my new shirt and a beer mug shaped hat with “Beer Me” embroidered on the front, my friends (along with our husbands) headed to the local Irish Pub.

Ken and I; My awesome tee and "Beer Me" hat; Bagpipes at the pub; Empty glasses.

Darts; Drunks killed the ATM; 80s Limo with horns.

And even though my drink of choice was Belvedere Pink Grapefruit and soda, I had a pretty damn good time.

I’d say this Pinterest Challenge was a success!

Speaking of loving vodka, check out our new Lemon Vodka Refresher at One Martini at a Time! It’s Grandpa Dale approved!

Very cute top! When I first read the title I instantly thought of the picture that I saw of the toilet with green food coloring and little green foot prints on the rim. If you haven’t seen it you need to search for it. It’s too cute!! I had planned on doing it for the kids but could not find my green food coloring and I didn’t think that red food coloring would have the same effect. :)

    • Carri says:

Red food coloring would look like blood and freak the kids out! haha My son isn’t old enough to “get” the footprints on the toilet yet. Maybe in a couple of years.

I love the Gap so much I would marry it. Really. Did you see the blue maxi skirt… I don’t even think I’m going to be able to wait until it goes on sale. I. Must. Have. That. Skirt.

    • Carri says:

I could marry the Gap and every article of clothing in it. I’m not a skirt kind of girl… but OMG they have red pencil capris with a white tank and black cropped jacket on display and I MUST HAVE THAT OUTFIT.
